Fortune 250 automotive retailer Group 1 Automotive UK has acquired Soper of Lincoln BMW/Mini, marking another strategic expansion in the UK market.
Howes Percival’s automotive sector team, led by corporate partner Tom Redman, advised on the acquisition. The team, composed of specialists from corporate, property, employment, and other legal areas, also provided counsel to other dealership groups like Glyn Hopkin and Steven Eagell in recent transactions.
Redman highlighted the firm’s ongoing relationship with Group 1, noting their previous advisory role in the retailer’s acquisition of multiple Mercedes-Benz dealerships earlier this year. He emphasised the team’s expertise in automotive retail, supporting Group 1 as they integrate the new Lincoln dealership into their portfolio.
