Italian Restaurant Operator Big Mamma Announces Birmingham Launch

Big Mamma Group, renowned for its Italian dining establishments across Europe, is set to open a new restaurant in Birmingham later this year. The new venue, named La Bellezza, will be located at Two Chamberlain Square on the £1.2 billion Paradise estate.

The 4,800 sq ft restaurant, which will accommodate 150 diners indoors and an additional 25 on an outdoor terrace, will feature a menu of homemade pizzas, pasta dishes, and gelato. It will occupy the space previously held by the wine bar Vinoteca, which closed in May last year after less than a year of operation.

La Bellezza will overlook Chamberlain Square and the historic Council House, joining a vibrant array of dining and entertainment options on the Paradise estate. The area is also home to Albert’s Schloss, F1 Arcade, and Dishoom, with Cow & Sow, a Bristol-based steakhouse, also slated to open soon.

This new Birmingham location marks Big Mamma Group’s expansion into its second UK city, following its successful launch in London. With five restaurants already established in the capital, the Birmingham venue represents a significant step for the company, which operates 26 restaurants across Europe, including Pink Mamma and La Felicità in Paris, and Giacomo in Monaco.

Founded in France in 2013 by Tigrane Seydoux and Victor Lugger, Big Mamma Group aims to recreate the warmth and generosity of traditional Italian trattorias. Ross Fittall, commercial development director at MEPC, the developer and asset manager of the Paradise estate, commented on the excitement surrounding the new addition to Birmingham’s dining scene
