CTC (Combined Therapy Centres) Healthcare, a Cheshire and Staffordshire based company has helped to achieve phenomenal results from their part in a health promotion and injury prevention programme piloted at Staffordshire County Council – 9,000 fewer sick days were taken overall which is equivalent to 36 full time employees or £540,000 worth of gained productivity!

The 8% reduction in sickness absence meant that the county council’s absence rate – now at 7.68 days per employee – was the same as the private sector and below that for similar sized organisations in the public sector.

CTC Healthcare provided a trial physiotherapy service for Staffordshire County Council throughout 2012 and as a result, the council has seen employee sickness days drop to an all time low. The trial was aimed at those who were suffering from pain and stiffness in joints, muscles, nerves and soft tissues and was offered alongside the council’s existing occupational health and staff counselling services. The aim was to enable employees either to remain in work or return to work quickly after an injury.

Rick Carter, Managing Director of CTC Healthcare says “Here at CTC we have developed a unique approach to health & wellbeing within the workplace. Via direct consultation with management and associates, we provide a tailored, transformative health service. We have found that solutions are often simple and the cost of implementing such services becomes easily recoupable.”

CTC Healthcare is based in Crewe, Cheshire and has 6 physiotherapy clinics around Cheshire & Staffordshire. Established in 1994, they offer a wide range of services such as sickness absence management, injury prevention management and health and wellbeing services to both private and corporate clients.
