A proposal for 500 new homes has been submitted as part of the second phase of the Pickford Gate housing development near Coventry, raising concerns among residents about potential increases in traffic and pressure on local services.

The development, which could eventually comprise 2,400 homes, shops, and a new school, includes 25% affordable housing. Of the new homes, 20% are planned to be between two and a half and three storeys high.

Architects IDP Group, representing BDW, stated that the plans aim to meet a recognised housing need in the area. The outline plans were approved in 2021, and the current application focuses on the area between Pickford Brook and Pickford Green Lane.

A survey conducted among residents received 14 responses, with most expressing opposition to the application due to concerns about its impact on local services and traffic.
