Fazeley Mill Marina, located near Tamworth, has been sold to civil engineering specialist The Rothen Group, marking a significant expansion in their waterways operations. Based in Warwickshire, The Rothen Group acquired the 2.2-acre marina from ABC Leisure Group, which operates numerous inland waterway marinas across the UK.
The acquisition is set to provide The Rothen Group with a new strategic base, enhancing their capacity to service and maintain the UK’s canal network, particularly in the busy Birmingham area. The firm also announced plans to invest in the marina’s infrastructure, focusing on upgrading the mooring facilities.
Managing director Ian Rothen expressed enthusiasm for the purchase, highlighting the marina’s prime location and its importance to the company’s future growth. Carl Onens, managing director of ABC Leisure Group, noted that the sale aligns with their strategy to focus on marinas dedicated to holiday lettings, trusting that The Rothen Group’s vision will benefit both the marina and the broader waterways network.
