Christie & Co, a property adviser, has been appointed to market Kettering Leisure Village in Northamptonshire, seeking offers over £6 million for the complex. Built in the early 1990s, the leisure facility spans 9.4 acres and features a 576-seat theatre, a health club, a children’s soft play area, and conference facilities.
The site, which has served as the home of Volleyball England, has undergone multiple renovations and continues to generate income from its various health, leisure, and commercial activities. Jeremy Jones, head of brokerage at Christie & Co, highlighted the property’s potential, noting opportunities to expand profits and income through asset management.
In 2023, Kettering Leisure Village was on the verge of closure after operator Compass announced plans to pull out due to financial losses. However, a campaign, including a 15,000-signature petition, helped keep the facility open when Phoenix Leisure stepped in to manage daily operations.
The property is leased by North Northamptonshire Council, paying a small rent to BQ Farms, part of the Buccleuch Estate near Kettering.
