A Nottingham-based charity focused on helping young people escape crime and gang involvement is set to benefit from an exciting new collaboration between Nottingham Venues and 200 Degrees Coffee. The partnership aims to support Switch Up, a charity dedicated to steering at-risk youth towards a more positive future.
Partnership with a Purpose
Nottingham Venues, a group of hospitality locations based on the University of Nottingham campuses, will now feature 200 Degrees’ special Switch Up Blend in their coffee offerings. The blend will be available daily at Spokes Café, Jubilee Hotel and Conferences, and Orchard Hotel. This initiative is designed to provide ongoing financial support to the charity, with 200 Degrees contributing £1 to Switch Up for every kilogram of coffee sold.
Commitment to Community Impact
Stephanie Moss-Pearce, director of marketing at Nottingham Venues, highlighted the importance of this partnership in supporting the city’s youth. “We employ over 270 people and want all our team members to feel that they have the opportunity to progress,” Moss-Pearce said. “Unfortunately, for thousands of young people across our city, they do not feel they have opportunity and face immense struggles in which they are not supported. Switch Up provides that support and helps to steer young people onto the right path. The charity is an immense force for good in Nottingham, and we are committed to furthering the excellent work of Dr Marcellus Baz and his colleagues, initially through our new coffee partnership.”
Extending the Impact Beyond Nottingham
Tim Moss, co-founder of 200 Degrees Coffee, expressed pride in the ongoing support his company has provided to Switch Up. “Through our Switch Up coffee blend, we have donated thousands of pounds to Switch Up in the past two years and we are proud to support the charity. It is great to see other Nottingham companies getting on board and helping our city’s young people through stocking the Switch Up blend,” Moss said.
The impact of the Switch Up Blend goes beyond Nottingham. The coffee is sourced exclusively from female farmers in Guatemala, and by providing these women with skills and income opportunities, 200 Degrees’ importer, Volcafe, is helping to transform cycles of poverty into cycles of prosperity—mirroring the work Switch Up is doing in Nottingham.
A Shared Vision for Positive Change
This partnership between Nottingham Venues and 200 Degrees Coffee not only strengthens the support for Switch Up’s vital work but also reflects a shared commitment to creating positive change both locally and globally. Through this collaboration, more young people in Nottingham will have the chance to break free from negative influences and build brighter futures.
