GivEnergy, a rapidly growing energy storage company, is set to develop a new hub for clean tech start-ups in North Staffordshire. The firm has acquired a disused site on Parkhouse Road, Newcastle-under-Lyme, where it plans to establish over ten start-up units dedicated to entrepreneurs in the clean technology sector.
The initiative, which has been approved by Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council, aims to provide flexible leasing terms and essential support to local innovators. GivEnergy is also considering angel investments for promising ventures, potentially integrating successful start-ups into its supply chain.
The development, expected to consist of 11-12 units, could generate several hundred green jobs. GivEnergy plans to collaborate with Keele and Staffordshire Universities to attract and support budding entrepreneurs in the region.
This project is part of GivEnergy’s broader strategy to bolster local manufacturing capabilities and position Newcastle-under-Lyme as a global leader in green technologies.
